Meet The Team

Abi Kubiak 

Abi Kubiak is the clinical director of A.K Physio and Sports Injury Clinic. She qualified in 2003, gaining abia first-class honours degree in Sports Rehabilitation from the University of Salford, and has since gone on to become a HPC Registered Physiotherapist and a member of the CSP. Abi also attained a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science from Leeds Metropolitan University prior to 2003. She has also completed a Sports Massage Certificate, meaning that she is fully qualified to carry out pre-event, conditioning and post-event sports massage. Abi is also qualified to administer acupuncture and is a member of the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists).

Since qualifying in 2003 Abi has worked predominantly in a clinic environment, dealing with a wide range of injuries. She has particular experience with sports injuries and whiplash. Abi plays competitive netball and has provided injury care and rehabilitation for Salford University Netball team, and for members of her current team at Knutsford Netball Club. She has also recently taken up triathlon and is a member of Knutsford Tri Club, and has competed in several events since her first in September 2010.

Kat Heyes

Katherine qualified with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Therapy in 2013 from Leeds Metropolitan University. She has recently gone on to complete her masters degree in Sports Injury Rehabilitation from the University of Salford in 2018. Additional to this she also holds qualifications in medical Acupuncture, Pre-hospital care in Sport, and previously worked as a fitness Instructor and personal trainer. She has particular experience in Sports Injuries, lower back pain and post operative care and rehabilitation.

Since becoming a Sports Therapist, Kat has worked in a variety of clinical and sporting environments. She currently works in both Rugby League and Rugby Union and has previously worked in Football, Aussie Rules and badminton.

Kat has always been very passionate about the world of sport and played hockey competitively for 15 years. She now finds enjoyment in keeping fit in any way she can and is always up for new challenges.

Madeline Kubiak

Madeline joined the team after being made redundant from her previous employer after 25 years. She madelinehas a background in Wages and Accounts and enjoys the different challenges this new role presents. Madeline will probably answer the phone if you ring on Thursday or Friday as she is responsible for the bookings for the clinic in addition to reception duties on those days in Knutsford. She liaises with all the team, but particularly with her daughter Abi who happens to be the Clinic Director.
